Swinging for a Cause - Nikki Baxter golf day in Support of WaterAid
Yesterday saw us swap the office for the fairways as we enjoyed our annual Golf Day, bringing together friends, colleagues and partners for a day of competition and charity fundraising.
The Competition
Five teams took part – FCBS, UCS, Elite, Lexmark and our very own “Bandits.” The format was Stableford, with the top three overall scores from each team making up the final totals. After some fantastic rounds of golf (and a few missed putts!), the contest came right down to the wire.
In the end, Clarks Bandits edged ahead, taking first place by just two points. Team Elite finished in a proud second place.
On the day
As well as the team competition, we added some extra challenges to keep things interesting, with prizes for:
Longest Drive – won by our very own Spencer!
Closest to the Pin – hotly contested and a highlight for many of the players.
The atmosphere was friendly yet competitive, with plenty of laughs and memorable shots along the way.
Supporting WaterAid
While the golf was fantastic, the real purpose of the day was to support WaterAid and the vital work they do. WaterAid’s mission is simple yet life-changing: to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene accessible to everyone, everywhere.
Events like ours help spread the word and encourage more people to get involved with this important cause.
